Hey! Thanks for checking out my first tileset project πŸ˜„

This is RPG Overworld, a 64px/256px overworld tileset. You'll see a lot of stuff that's heavily inspired by gen 3 Pokemon and Animal Crossing, because I love those games - I've tried to give it a pixel art vibe without it, you know, actually being pixel art. I hope it comes across!

What’s Included

  • Terrain tiles : Grass, dirt, sand, water, cliffs, and paths with multiple variants
  • Decorations : Trees, bushes, flowers, crates, rocks, crops, fences, signs, benches, lanterns, chests and more. Loads here πŸ‘€
  • Player character : just a basic lil guy in a bunch of colours. More planned here. Keep an eye out!
  • Structures : Houses, bridges, shop, lighthouse, well, barn, and more I'm forgetting
  • Animals : a bunch of cute farm animals - pigs, cows, sheep and chickens! 🐷

Why Choose This Tileset?

  • 64px or 256px resolution : created in vector design software; exported at 256px for higher quality, or 64px for lighter file sizes. (Does that make it pixel art...?)
  • Pixel-art inspired : should hopefully feel really familiar.  If you've seen my other stuff , you know I love bright colours and strong shapes, and this pack's no exception.
  • Always growing : this pack's already crammed full of good stuff, but I'll also be updating it regularly with all my other packs - and as you'll know if you've used itch much, those updates are going to be 100% free :)
  • Engine-ready : designed with Godot in mind (particularly the terrain, which uses Godot's 47-tile pattern as a base), but perfect for any game engine, really. So if you're using RPG Maker, Gamemaker, Unity or whatever, I've got you covered!

I want to purchase your assets on itch.io and use them in my commercial game. Do I need to buy a license?

no! Thanks for asking :)

Sorry to keep bringing bad news: the hedges have a lot of stray transparent pixels. Otherwise I'm LOVING this update, as well as the one to your general icon pack! Thanks for all your awesome work!

Actually, I'll admit I was working mostly with the decorations/structures until today. I'm also seeing a ton of issues with the terrain set. Visible seams at the edges of tiles, some awkward pixel offsets for water tiles.

Oh christ, thank you so much. Ive been having issues with pixel alignment recently, every so often something will be off by 0.0001 of a pixel despite being aligned to the grid, and scaling it up to export seems to round the gap up to the nearest pixel.

I'm away until Wednesday but I'll tackle the terrain set ASAP when im back! And thank you again!!!

This should all now be fixed; try redownloading!

Any chance to create an attack like a pack? Like a fireball attack, or a leaf storm attack sprites? I think that would work great with this PokΓ©mon-like overworld!

Also, any chance those fun big eyes (like the black rabbit in the 2nd screenshot) will be added to the pack?

No plans for that for now! Maybe for a character pack? πŸ‘€

That sounds pretty cool! πŸ‘€

Any reason for the *-shore tiles having a gray (#E6E6E6) background instead of transparent?

Because im an idiot 😢 Will fix!

When I import this into Godot as-is and let it create its own atlas, I have to add a 1px margin for the x and y axis both. Otherwise some tiles overlap 1 pixel into an otherwise transparent tile. Am I doing something wrong when creating the tileset?

Also, some tiles are offset with the rest of the grid. This mainly happens to the tiles at the far-right-hand-side of Structures and Decorations.

ahh sorry! Can I ask where the 1px offset is?

omg I can see it everywhere now 😭😭 Looking for a fix...

ok, should now be sorted. try redownloading :)

Thank you so so much for reporting!!!!

Looks much better now! The terrain tiles may have the same 1px problem, but at least the tiles are centered.

Even with my own 1px margin in Godot, it seems that two terrain tiles have a stray pixels on their bottom border? They seem mostly transparent, but they trigger a tile creation regardless.

Despite that, this is enough for me to get started on new scenes with all these tiles! Thanks so much for the additions!

damnit I knew I'd missed something 😭 Will have to fix that one later. Glad the rest are working!

should REALLY be fixed now!

Hi there! I bought your asset pack and it's just too cute! Could you add some more animals like wild animals? Like snakes, turtles, frogs, foxes, deer, skunks, porcupines, etc... Can you also add forest, cave, underwater, jungle, arctic and desert as environments too? and animals and plants to go with them? I absolutely love your art style and am planning on making a crafting/adventure rpg with these assets :)

all great ideas. Thank you!!

Loving this pack so far, working very well for my Pokemon-based game! I have a few suggestions

  • STREETS! Cobblestone, concrete, brick, and a few pattern variants (check Slateport City in Pokemon RSE)
  • Bikes and bike racks
  • Tents
  • Lightposts and lanterns
  • Beach parasols
  • Pots and planters with trees/flowers/plants in them
  • More variations of rocks
  • Hedges that can be chained together into one giant hedge / hedge maze, similar to fences (check Petalburg City in Pokemon RSE)
  • Treasure chests or chests for tools
  • Tools (used for decoration on top of objects/the ground, not held)
  • Picnic supplies
  • Fallen logs
  • Pokemon-style "tall grass" that can be chained together into one continuous block of grass (check Route 120 in Pokemon RSE)
  • Small vehicles
  • Pokemon-style ledges
  • Pokemon-style lakes / ponds (you currently have water tiles but they're attached only to beach tiles)
  • Man-made structures BESIDES buildings, like the well that's currently in the pack. I suppose these are more like "man-made decorations"

Amazing, thank you!!!! I'll definitely add this stuff!

THANK. YOU. I'm so incredibly excited to add these to my randomized map

Hey! Remember me from last time? I'm the one who made your pack into an actual RPG game. I'm pretty close to finishing it, but I got some suggestions for this tileset:

  1. Like the comment below, more bunny personalities and maybe a pro/SVG version. And also, the black bunny from the preview isn't actually in the tileset
  2. Files for each sprite - I'm struggling to extract each sprite from the tileset because of the size inconsistencies. If you could make images for each sprite, or maybe make the tile sizes more consistent and extractable.
  3. Some more environments, such as caves, snow, etc.
  4. And lastly, this is probably more to the furniture back, but you should probably add more rooms to,o such as a castle (for some nice storyline), a store or barn area, or maybe some different materials to make each bunny's house more unique

Sorry if that was a bit too much, you don't necessarily need to do all of these, but probably adding #2 would be very nice.

no these are brilliant, tysm!!! I'm currently on a break but ill be sure to use these suggestions when I'm back 😁

Hey Rhos! I love this asset pack and am so happy I bought it!! It's just too cute. I was wondering if it's possible to get the vector file for the bunny. I'd love to be able to make a town of bunnies of various colours!

i'd also be very interested in the bunnies!!! really my dream is a set of characters out of the icons you've made and released but i will settle for now for bunnies all the way down 🐰

(+1)

it's on the books! Will take a while but I really want to do it!

Hi, are you planning to add some new environment tiles? Like a cave, winter/ice tiles, etc.?

yes!!

I NEED THE BUNNY

Where is the bunny :D

Excuse me? Do u know the font of the letter "Vector RPG Overworld"?

(+1)

Arco typography!

Now I'm making a farming game but now I need animals and some animation :) i will asking my mom for buy this pack!!!

Guys i want to own this but i have no money :(

(+1)

try the demo!

Thanks!

Bro the demo I just download it now i need this pack!!

is  this including in Vector Icon Pack?

no, it's its own thing!

Hi I really love the style of the pack but I would love it if there would by any way to include some type of the actual vector format files too, its really hard doing any kind of upclose or zooming with these assets when they are only 64x64 and not meant to look low-rez

oooo I hadn't though about zooming. I'll add a 256x version tomorrow!

Thank you soooo much <3 im really excited for the future of this pack. Would really love to make a cozy little game with it

(1 edit)

Updated! Just redownload to get the new version. The big ones are all suffixed with _256. :)

cool

Hi, congratulations on your work as usual, this pack is incredible, I’m going to buy it. I’d like to know if you already have any ideas on what to add for the next updates of the pack?

Thanks! And yeah, loads. I need to do an interiors pack first, and maybe a character pack. Just stuff to enable you to make a complete experience. Then I'll start expanding :)

I can't wait to see the result, good luck and thank you for the work you offer!
